Come join members of the Atlanta Chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier International (LDEI) as we say goodbye to spring and hello to summer. LDEI has also been a long-time friend of the Food Bank, and we welcome them back to Simple Abundance for a special evening of food, fun, education and entertainment led and taught by a wonderful group of seven talented female chefs! The menu the chefs will demonstrate will be an ode to all things local and seasonal in the South. We'll begin with a refreshing Strawberry cocktail and scrumptious cheese course; both of which you can easily prepare at home and impress your friends. You'll learn simple techniques for mastering a delicious meal utilizing fresh, local seasonal ingredients including sustainable seafood (US farm raised catfish). We'll also discuss the benefits of slowing down and enjoying the bounty around us and how our food choices can make a positive impact on our community and the world. Full menu details are forthcoming but will also feature a salad, two vegetable sides and a blackberry and corn cobbler for dessert! Evening includes wine tastings and a chance to win tasty door prizes. Les Dames d’Escoffier International is a worldwide society of women dedicated to creating a culture in the community that fosters excellence and promotes the achievement of women in culinary professions through educational and charitable activities. Atlanta Dames include chefs, restaurateurs, caterers, retailers, event planners, cookbook authors, food journalists and historians, winemakers and wine industry professionals, food publicists, culinary educators and hospitality executives.
