Summer Hunger Isn't Fun

Summer Hunger

When school is out, many children no longer have access to meal assistance. Of the more than 21.5 million U.S. children eating free or reduced school meals, only 3.5 million are accessing a summer feeding program, leaving millions of children unserved. ACFB supports the Georgia Food Bank Association in their efforts to mobilize support for the summer food service program. Learn more!

Supper Club at Common Quarter

From the folks that brought you Muss & Turner's, “CQ" is a neighborhood gathering spot focusing on a memorable and comfortable guest experience through the celebration of culinary heritage and the hospitality of the South. 20% of your tab will be donated to the Food Bank, so join us with friends and family on Tuesday, June 10 for a great night. Make your reservations today!

Partners in Sharing

Every week, 59,000 people count on the food ACFB provides when times are tough. We count on a special circle of supporters to make sure we’re always there to help. When you become a Partners in Sharing monthly supporter, you help the Food Bank reach as many people as possible, in the most cost-effective way. You also save time, postage, and enjoy greater convenience. Our goal is for 60 people to become new Partners in Sharing by June 30. Start your monthly gift today.

Legal Food Frenzy

The 3rd annual Legal Food Frenzy, a statewide food and fund drive involving lawyers and law firms, surpassed its goal, raising (with food and funds) the equivalent of 1,140,627 pounds across the entire state of Georgia! Final numbers for firms and schools in ACFB's region totaled $186,519.62 and 17,101 pounds of food. Thanks to everyone who participated this year!

Hunger Fact

It's a first. This May, the Food Bank surpassed 5 million pounds of food and grocery products distributed in just one month - enough to provide more than 4.2 million meals for the hungry.

We recently helped to host Atlanta's National Day of Civic Hacking with more than 100 developers, designers and project managers coming together to create solutions for ACFB. They critiqued our website, agency ordering platform, and more, then crafted new applications to help us. In the end, the "Foogle" team who helped create website tools for our partner agencies emerged victorious.

Join us at Chick-A-Biddy on Monday, June 23! 10% of all sales after 5:00 pm will be donated to ACFB! You'll enjoy farm-fresh, all-natural chicken dishes and other regional fare all while supporting ACFB.
