You Put the Spring in Our Step

Hunger Walk/Run 2013 Finish Line

What a Difference a Day Makes

We asked you, as we have for the past 29 years, to come take the next step in the fight against hunger. And, boy, did you answer the call! Over 15,000 showed up at Turner Field on a beautiful Sunday afternoon and hit the streets with us. It was a record-breaking year in many ways-more teams signed up and more runners participated than ever before. As for money raised, we’re still tallying it all up, but rest assured, we’ll let you know the totals as soon as we know. Thank you again for an amazing day!

Volunteer Opportunities

5 & Counting

Sorting food at the Food Bank’s Produce Rescue Center is one of the most popular volunteer activities in town, but did you know we have at least 5 other great ways to volunteer? Find out what they are! Learn more and register your interest today.

We Love Our Volunteers

National Volunteer Week happens April 21-27. There aren’t enough words to show our gratitude, but we can start with a BIG thanks to all of you who have donated your time and talent to the Food Bank. We can’t do what we do without your help. Last fiscal year, volunteers served 109,978 hours in support of the ACFB mission - the equivalent of hours served by 52 full time staff members! Thanks again to all who help us day in and day out. We appreciate you!

Taste of the Nation

Taste of the Nation

Taste of the Nation Atlanta is back! This black tie optional event has been a staple on the Atlanta scene for 25 years now and is still going strong. Where else can you enjoy a night of gourmet food and wine featuring chefs from 50 of Atlanta’s top restaurants, live entertainment and live, silent and wine auctions? All proceeds benefit local charities, including ACFB. Join us and the honorary chairs of the evening, Governor and first lady Deal, on April 11. Tickets still available!

Braves Strike Out Hunger

Braves Strike Out Hunger

Strike Out Hunger returns this year with the Atlanta Community Food Bank, Atlanta Braves and Kroger partnering in the fight against hunger. Before every Friday home game, with a donation of $20 or 20 cans, Braves fans can get an autograph from a current Braves pitcher at Turner Field’s Monument Grove. Or, fans can receive an autograph from Braves alumni with their donation at various Kroger locations. All proceeds from the program will benefit the Food Bank. Batter up! Limit one autograph per $20 or 20 can donation.

Last Chance

There are only 10 days left to get your taxes done before the dreaded April 15 deadline! If your household made $49,000 or less in 2012, you could have your taxes prepared at no cost. Visit ACFB's Atlanta Prosperity Campaign to find a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance site near you.
