IMPORTANT ROAD CLOSURE ANNOUNCEMENT

The Monster Truck Jam, beginning at 11am, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium will affect traffic before and after Hunger Walk Run.

The following road closures will impact your ability to access the parking lots north and east of 755 Hank Aaron Drive: Green, Blue, Gold and Orange lots.

  • Closing at 1:30pm- 2:30pm - Hank Aaron Drive / Capitol Avenue between Fulton Street and Georgia Avenue / Ralph David Abernathy Jr. Drive.
  • Closing at 1:30pm-3:30pm - Ralph David Abernathy Jr. Blvd/Georgia Ave, S.E., for the starting/finish line of the race.

The Green Lot and a portion of the Gold Lot are unavailable this year.

>> We suggest that all participants plan to arrive at 755 Hank Aaron Drive before 1:30pm for FREE PARKING and to allow time for parking to get to the event (the Walk/Run starts at 2:00pm). We anticipate the available Blue, Orange and limited spaces in the Gold lots within the immediate vicinity of 755 Hank Aaron Drive will be completely full around this time. Once these lots fill, the only available parking will be on the west side of I-75/85, on Central Avenue and Pryor Street, or in the private pay parking lots available in the vicinity of 755 Hank Aaron Drive primarily south and west of the stadium.

Parking is free at all available lots until 2pm or until full. After 2pm the following fees apply, $10 per car and $25 per truck / van.

Bus parking is located on Pollard Boulevard on the northbound curb, between the blue lot entrance and Ralph David Abernathy Jr. Boulevard.

Handicap parking is available with valid permit along the Pollard Blvd SW entrance.

>> Please note the Walk/Run starting line has shifted over to Ralph David Abernathy Jr. Blvd/Georgia Ave, S.E., just south of the Green Lot. The Walk/Run starts at 2:00pm. (Site Map Coming Soon)

Walk-up Registration on Sunday

Walk-up registrants are welcome at the event. The registration fee increases by $5 at the gate. Day-of-event walk registration is $30 and run registration is $40. If you did not pre-register online and want an event T-shirt, you must visit the REGISTRATION TENT on Sunday to turn in your cash, check or credit card donation. All registered participants will receive one event T-shirt, per individual, regardless of the total amount raised. For money collectively raised by a team, the team captain must bring an envelope or signed waiver that has been filled out for each team member who wishes to receive a T-shirt. Please note: there are no ATMs onsite. Credit card payments will be accepted.

PARKING IS FREE UNTIL 2 P.M:  All walkers and runners are encouraged to park in the onsite Gold, Orange, or Blue Lots. The Gold and Orange Lots are located on Capital Ave, S.E./Hank Aaron Drive. The Blue Lot is on Capitol Avenue. Starting at 2p.m., parking will cost $10 per car and $25 per bus.

Riding MARTA: The closest MARTA station to Georgia State Stadium is the Georgia State station on the blue/green rail line. Walking time is about 25 minutes (approximately five blocks) to Georgia State Stadium. From the station, turn left on Piedmont Avenue and walk south toward the Capitol. View more details.

Don't Forget!

  • No pets! Only service animals are allowed at the Georgia State Stadium and on the route.
  • Bring cash if you plan to purchase food. No ATMs onsite.
  • Bring banners and wear your team t-shirts.
  • Strollers are allowed at Hunger Walk Run. There is plenty of fun for the kids!
  • Dress in layers and bring sunscreen. The event occurs rain or shine.
