In 2010, I stood in front of my professional family and friends at SART (Sustainable Atlanta Round Table) and proclaimed, “Starting this Earth Day, I pledge to live a year in Atlanta without a car to reduce my impact on the environment.” And I did it! I gave up my fun SAAB 9.3 convertible that Earth Day. And AWOC has become my way of life.
Before the Covid-19 outbreak, I planned to host an event at the Atlanta Community Food Bank (ACFB) that would foster awareness of the challenges faced by Atlantans who utilize mass transit to live, work, play, and importantly, feed their families. Still, I want to celebrate and support the Food Bank whose need is greater than ever.
Will you help me by donating $10.00 or more? That’s just $1.00 for every year of Atlanta Without a Car. Your donation of $10.00 provides meals for 40 people as 95% of your gift goes directly to the community to fight hunger. The goal for the fundraiser is $5000.00 which will feed 20,000 people in our community. To ensure we meet our goal, I will match your contribution.

Thank you for your support. I am still Going AWOC – Atlanta Without a Car, ten years and counting!
