Food & Fund Drives 2019

Indian-American Council "Hunger Mitao" Campaign

Join Indian Americans across metro Atlanta to fight hunger with the Atlanta Community Food Bank! The newly forming Atlanta chapter of the Indian American Council (IAC) needs your help to provide thousands of meals to Georgians in need during its first ever "Hunger Mitao!" campaign from August 1-31, 2019.

One in 5 Georgia children faces hunger, and more than 780,000 people in the Atlanta Community Food Bank's service area struggle to put enough nutritious food on the table.

Hunger Mitao Week is a signature campaign of the Indian American Council and is observed during August, the month of India’s Independence Day. Our vision is to showcase the unity, philanthropy and spirit of the Indian American community through conducting "funds for food" drives all over the region served by the Atlanta Community Food Bank. Imagine when families across north Georgia come to observe India's Independence Day as "Independence from Hunger Day". This is possible when the Indian community comes together to make a huge impact locally.

Every $1 you give will help the Atlanta Community Food Bank provide 4 meals to neighbors in need.

EXCITING NEWS!! Thanks to the generosity of IAC Co-Founders, Raj and Aradhana Asava, all donations to this Hunger Mitao campaign will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $5,000!

MARK YOUR CALENDARS! The new Atlanta chapter of the Indian American Council (IAC) will host an official launch event at the Atlanta Community Food Bank on October 2, 2019--the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Additional details will be shared soon.
