Food & Fund Drives 2021

Ahavath Achim Synagogue

Operation Isaiah, the Jewish community’s annual High Holiday drive to support the Atlanta Community Food Bank (ACFB), began at Ahavath Achim 30 years ago. Today the ACFB assists non-profit partner agencies that serve 80,600 people each week, and AA has kept up with the demand. In the past two years our congregation, the undisputed leader in collections every year, donated food and monetary gifts that provided over 67,000 meals to children, seniors, veterans, and working families, with much of that food going to Jewish Family & Career Services and its Kosher Food Pantry.

Yom Kippur and Rosh Hashanah this year will be different. Unlike prior years when congregants would bring hundreds of bags of food to our Shul, this year we will celebrate our High Holidays in our homes.

The 2020 Operation Isaiah initiative will be entirely virtual. Your monetary contributions will enable the Atlanta Community Food Bank to purchase food to service those in our community that are struggling with Hunger.

Our AA family once again will be able to demonstrate gratitude for our bounty as we fulfill Isaiah’s vision, carrying out the fast G-d desires from us by sharing our bread with the hungry.
