Hello, Wonderful Friends!
For the fourteenth year in a row, our class, the “BAD” Class – now Becca, Antonjo, David), is leading an effort to gather together a large group of Paideia families and friends to participate in the Hunger Walk in support of the Atlanta Community Food Bank. This year, we are trying to engage as many classes as possible as well.
The 2023 Hunger Walk is scheduled to be held at The Home Depot Backyard on Sunday, March 12th, at 2:00 pm (the full event is 12:00-4:00), and it is one of the most important hunger relief efforts of the year for the Atlanta Community Food Bank. The money we raise will go a long way in touching the lives of people in need.
Our team name is “David and Becca and Antonjo’s Class and Paideia Friends.” If and when you sign up, please be sure to join our team by clicking the following link!

Our efforts will support mainly The Atlanta Community Food Bank, but some proceeds will also go to a local non-profit organization, Intown Collaborative Ministries, that fights against homelessness and hunger primarily in the 30306 and 30307 zip codes, some to Toco Hills Community Alliance, another partner agency of the ACFB, and perhaps some to Action Ministries, an final organization with which we have been involved over the years.
We would love as many of you and yours as possible to join us on the Hunger Walk…students, parents, siblings, cousins, extended family, friends, neighbors… The more the merrier (just no pets, I’m afraid)! Anybody can show up to walk.
To officially be listed on the team on the website, there is a registration fee of $25.00 for walkers ($35 for runners). We do not want this detail to discourage anyone from joining us to walk. We would love first to get a big crowd gathered. Of course, the ultimate purpose, as well as community building and increasing awareness of the issue of hunger, is to raise money for the Food Bank, so, if you can register to be on the team, or make a donation, or know folks who would like to support the cause, we would appreciate all the help that we can get.
Together, we can make sure that a child in our community doesn’t go to bed hungry tonight. We can offer a glimmer of hope to struggling parents desperately trying to make ends meet for their family. We can ensure another senior citizen isn’t forced to choose between paying for medicine or food.
Please consider joining us for the Hunger Walk and/or supporting us with a donation. Please let me, Becca, know if you have trouble with the link below. If you click on it, you should be able to get there and join or support the team. There are links both to join the team and to support us in green boxes on the top right side of the page (they turn orange when you hover over them). To support individual team members, click on their names, listed in orange below the green links.
