OPERATION ISAIAH: 30TH ANNIVERSARY
Happy 30th Anniversary! The Jewish community and the Atlanta Community Food Bank are getting ready to come together for our 30th Operation Isaiah food drive. For three decades, the Atlanta Jewish community has partnered with the Food Bank to help feed our hungry neighbors in north Georgia. Since the inception of Operation Isaiah, the Jewish community has been able to provide over 1 million pounds of food to children, seniors, veterans, and working families.
Thirty years ago when Operation Isaiah began, few could have anticipated the tremendous impact the Jewish community has had on food drives for the Atlanta Community Food Bank and on the lives of fellow Georgians. 2020 is proving to be a very challenging year for everyone. The leaders of Operation Isaiah are calling on all of you to continue to be pioneers for this year’s food drive.
We recognize that COVID-19 has dramatically altered the lives of everyone in the world-- physically, economically, and socially. This High Holiday season will likely be one like none of us has ever experienced before, yet we hope we can use our decades of experience with food drives to continue to reach out to our neighbors in need of food. One in every six north Georgians struggles to put food on their table and in the mouths of their children.
