Hunger Walk Run benefits six local hunger relief organizations that operate and support hundreds of food pantries, shelters, community kitchens, senior centers, and child care centers across metro Atlanta and north Georgia.

Hunger Walk Run encourages participants and donors to support the charity of their choice, tailoring giving to your specific interests while contributing to broader, community-wide hunger relief efforts. Simply select the charity of your choice when registering for the event. Please read below for a fuller description of each of our benefiting partners.

 Atlanta Community Food Bank

Atlanta Community Food Bank    www.acfb.org

Atlanta Community Food Bank is a nonprofit working to end hunger across metro Atlanta and north Georgia. There are too many children, seniors and working families experiencing hunger. We work with more than 700 community partners to provide food to over 600,000 neighbors each year. It takes lots of food, people, and big ideas to guarantee that our neighbors have the nutritious food they need for a healthy life. Our goal is that by 2025 everyone in the Food Bank's 29-county service area will have access to the nutritious meals they need when they need them. The Hunger Walk Run is an integral fundraising, community building, and awareness initiative of the Food Bank. We thank you for taking the next step in helping us end hunger!

Presbytery of Greater ATL logo - HWR2013

Presbytery of Greater Atlanta    www.atlpcusa.org

Presbytery of Greater Atlanta works to support and equip local churches that are part of the Presbyterian Church USA in their efforts to love God and neighbor. Hunger relief efforts include programs housed in member churches (food pantries and programs providing hot meals), programs/partnerships outside the church, and new programs that are “outside the box.” A growing number of our churches are involved in bag lunch programs - in partnership with neighborhood schools. These programs provide weekend meals for children who receive free and reduced school lunches. Start-up grants are also made available through partnerships with new initiatives like community gardens and other community building/support programs.
